Best Buy is looking for an entrepreneurial minded Strategy Manager to be key part of our fast growing "Emerging Platforms - Mobile" business; focused on producing a diverse array of online and digital products; to help envision new digital tools to deliver Best Buy's strategic goal of 'making technology work for you'. This role will bring to life new digital products that empower consumers to learn, explore, and engage with consumer electronics across Best Buy's digital and physical touch points.
As a Strategy Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Administer ongoing high value work streams, monitoring budgets, approaches and investments in concert with the teams' strategic and tactical plans.
- Project manages the creation of the growth/strategic planning process for the operating group. Working cross functionally to plan business growth near and longer term ensuring the teams keep those plans and goals top of mind.
- Deliver a course of action that clearly delineates between an Operating Plan and Strategic Plan.
- Share their expertise and perspectives throughout and across operating groups, as well as external partners.
- Support leaders in setting cross functional strategies throughout the enterprise.
Assist with short-term, mid-range and long-term planning process, including the development and maintenance of a systemic approach
Project manage strategic initiatives from incubation through implementation across business teams and operating groups ensuring key execution requirements are resolved on a daily basis (meetings are established, cross functional communication and interaction occurs, etc). May include activities associated with pre-testing through use of a lab environment to ensure technical capability and consumer and employee ease of use and deployment.
Drive appropriate integration between business team and enterprise growth/strategic planning process.
Coordinate activities and communicate information and customer requirements to internal and external business partners.
Measure adherence to execution plans against integrated channel strategy to ensure rapid introductions of strategic plays and initiatives.
Develop sustainable processes and systems to support the strategy process
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- At least 5 or more years' experience in one or a combination of digital, merchandising, marketing, finance, business development, strategic planning, or other related disciplines
- At least 3 or more years' experience in developing and using critical professional networks inside and outside Best Buy to gain competitive intelligence and apply to strategy development and execution
- Strong conceptual skills, a critical eye for detail and the ability to translate complex concepts into visual representations
- Knowledge of the product development process and solid project management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team work skills
- Must be organized, self-motivated and able to switch rapidly between different projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 or more years of management experience
- MBA (Planning, Marketing or Finance) preferred
